It'd be great for the Beastiary, but this is pretty much only for the monsters that were actually in Doom 3.

The Doom 3 Arachnotron is only a concept. It doesn't actually exist in the game.

It didn't really fit the setting, though it does look like a really nice upgrade to the original Arachnotron. While there are a few monsters that did have mechanical parts, like the Mancubus, Pinky and Lost Soul, they could've gotten that technology from the original Martian civilization (Revenant's kind of iffy), the Plasma Rifle that would be on the Arachnotron is distinctly Human. It also might clash with the Trites. Still, that technology on some of the demons is something I wish Id Software would elaborate on.

It'd work perfectly in Doom 4, likely (The Bruiser's proven that they know Human technology now), and I really do hope the Arachnotron appears in it. Anywho, any progress on the Trite? :P

recently i make a trite for revenge of evil , need more works but i made the trite can appear on the ceiling =)

BTW I think this could be a good base for the Tick, so it looks a little different than the Trite.

Though it'd be a neat effect (that I would put as an ACS-activated state), walking on ceilings isn't all that useful for a melee monster.

@Vegeta: Where'd you get that set? I might make that into a monster for the Beastiary, so I'd like to know who/what to credit for it. The legs, with a little editing, might work for the Tick.

It's from the game Powerslave, Neoworm ripped the sprites and sent them to me.
He used the set for the "Imp Trite", that's available in the bestiary. For my side, I used these for the Spider boss in "A Megawad in Two Weeks" (map08 if I remember correctly).

As you/ll see the attack frames only have one angle, so it's going to need some extra work, but I guess that's not going to be much of a problem. As it's mostly red, the coloration (in case you decide to use it) will be a zap.

By the way, how does the Tick explode and what sound does it use? The only time it exploded in a Youtube video, the guy's back was turned so I couldn't see it explode.

The only way I can make it explode, by the way, is with A_Die in the melee state (which it'll go to as soon as it hits the player with a leap :P) and spawning a projectile that explodes immediately in the death state (it's a lot smoother than it sounds). I think, otherwise, it would bug out and the monster count would say it's still alive, which would be really bad for the Invasion game mode. I'll make that the XDeath state, and have a normal death animation.
