Exhumed cheat question

While playing the game I noticed in a few levels that something I did opened all locked doors, but so far haven't found what. I suspect some cheat is doing it but so far haven't managed to trigger this in a situation where I can see the door. Does anybody know what's up here? As it is a pretty annoying feature I'd like to isolate it to a separate cheat.

According to this page, there indeed is a cheat that does such a thing, of which I was completely unaware of.

Cheat mode

Type "holly" during game. (Note: Cheat mode need only be enabled once per game.)

Unlock all doors and trigger all traps

Enable Cheat mode. Then type "doors".


Unrelated, but there even is a summon command which is even more surprising:

Hope that helps, not sure if cheat codes are implemented in a completely different way though.

These codes are there but implemented as console commands now. But that's not what gets triggered here, it must be some side effect or bug then.
Unfortunately this game's action management is done in such a weird way that finding something misbehaving is almost impossible, because it all uses a generic interface that's the same for everything - monsters, doors, elevators and any other game action.

Out of curiosity, was the reason for this behavior ever discovered in the end? Also, what did you think of the game if you got the chance to playing it a bit?

Yes, the bug was found. There were some dependencies on side effects in the switch code which made it break when I did some cleanup. In the end I was forced to undo that change.
