Raze is out of alpha stage! (0.8.0 released!)

Post by Graf Zahl »

After fixing many of the issues that were preventing this move, we can finally announce the first beta version - 0.8.0!

The most noteworthy fixes are that models are rendering again and that Exhumed's sound has seen most of its bugs fixed.

Here's a short list of the highlights:
- improved controller support.
- much better mouse control for RRRA's vehicles.
- hires texture replacements for 2D rendering are functional now.
- Add registry detection for Powerslave/Exhumed from GOG.
- Exhumed: Get GOG music playing without any user intervention required.
- RRRA: fixed progression from E1L7 to E2L1.
- Duke World Tour: Exiting E1L7 should go back to E1L5.
- Duke WT: attenuate sound volume when commentaties are playing
- SW: Addressed several voxel items that were not displayed properly.
- fixed weapon cycling in Exhumed.
- Blood: Show all available powerups in HUD.
- Exhumed: fixed most of the outstanding sound issues.
- Blood: handle super secrets properly in the statistics display.
- added interpolation for texture scrollers (both walls and floors) and Duke's wave floor effect.
- fixed model rendering. It's not fully correct yet, but models will actually be displayed now.

I just made a bugfix release to address the following issues:

- Duke: fixed scrolling skies
- Exhumed: fixed loading maps with slopes
- Exhumed: changed default visibility to reduce the amount of depth fading.
