I don't think die-hard GPL adherents will touch Raze anyway as long as the Build license is there

We had some people in the past who had issues with mixing GPL and BSD licensed code because the BSD was not 'pure' enough. Can't do much about them, if they had their way the entire software development industry would collapse within a year - but that's something these people will never understand.

And in what way was BSD "impure"?

I'm genuinely curious, since licenses are not my area of expertise.

Nothing, it's just ideologic bickering (i.e. if you do not make the code "free" as I see it, the code isn't "free") and pushing an agenda.

Raze should just use the Boomsday license and be done with it. (A recent find.)
EDIT: In case anyone stumbles upon this and thinks: ''Why is he even presenting this garbage license?'', its a lighthearted comment. I mean, just look at it.

That's

a.) not a source code license
b.) entirely incompatible with the Duke3D and Shadow Warrior game code license
c.) entirely irrelevant to the current discussion

Looks like someone wants to play hardball about code licensing.

That's
a.) True. Its an additional document added alongside the DoomLIC in the distribution. I found it peculiar that it exists
b.) Correct. I never postulated otherwise. Its a lighthearted comment, not a serious one
c.) Also correct. It's a lighthearted comment.

Yeah, that's totally what i am doing here.

If this constitutes a warning point, ill gladly accept one - I didn't mean to derail a serious discussion here.

This is my first post on ZDoom forum, so hi to all reading this! :)

I think my question is not worth creating separate topic and is MacOS related, so I'm posting here.

Where should I put GRP file & autoload folder on MacOS?
Contrary to windows binary, there is no INI file with paths. I've tried browsing .app bundle contents, but there is no .INI file there.

This is what I always get, no matter where I put my game files & autoload folder:
Execution could not continue.
Unable to find any game data. Please verify your settings.

Thanks for creating & developing Raze!

IIRC you need to create ~/Documents/Raze folder, and copy all files from every game to its own subfolders there.
So, it will be ~/Documents/Raze/Duke3D with everything for DN3D, ~/Documents/Raze/Blood with Blood files, etc.
Config file is stored in ~/Library/Preferences folder.

Config file has all paths adjusted for my machine. Raze did it automatically, nice.
So I assumed moving Duke3D.GRP to ~/Documents/Raze/Duke3D should be enough.
But for some reason it doesn't work. Same error message, nothing useful in log file.

Could you please open Terminal, and execute the following command there? Please post its output.
Code: Select allExpand view
crc32 ~/Documents/Raze/Duke3D/Duke3D.GRP

Also, did you edited raze.ini? Even if you didn't, I suggest you to check GameSearch.Directories section. It should have Path=/Users/<your-username>/Documents/Raze/* entry, with asterisk at the end.
