This is cool, very cool. Very nice tutorial (if a little slowly paced - like all tutorials) and a fun game.

I suppose the limitation is that the ball has a number of predefined release points and it cannot be deflected at all by the pins. Is it even possible to add that kind of flexibility?

Dunno. I wanted to have a ball type that randomly zig-zagged across the lanes but this would require being able to spawn a projectile which has a thing id (tag). I haven't been keeping up with recent zdoom developements, but as far as I'm aware this isn't possible.

Yeah, the tutorial is slow. I made it today, been off sick from work. I rushed it. But to be honest, I don't think I could have put in any more time on this project without going insane. I wanna get back to architecture and forget scripting.

Heh, I think I may be getting addicted. This is a great little game with its own rules and internal logic. Was it inspired by anything specific (ther than bowling obviously)?

Also, I love the chirpy amiga style mod music.

Forget what I said earlier about the deflection of the ball. All the other elements provide enough strategy so that you can significantly alter your score and ability to clear a frame by the way you play and the choices you make. In fact, a ball that got deflected may actually detract from the game...

My only gripe now is that I don't think there is any way to pick different length games. It's the kind of game I'd quite often like to fire up just before shutting down my computer. Being able to pick a 10 frame game would allow me to drop into the game for 10 minutes or so instead of the 35+ minutes it takes me to play a game. Of course, you do realise there is no way I can just quit half way through a game, so just quitting when I get to 10 frames simply isn't an option. :)

The latest news wrote:Children in Aberdeenshire have just had a sharp drop in their Biology grades. Sources blame a Mr. Nigel Rowand who appears to have a crippiling addiction to a DooM modification called Romero Death Skittles.
Erm....Enjay. It Looks like you got TOO addicted to RD-Skits.

EDIT: There also appears to be a DR refference in the level style.

Thing_Projectile2 (tag, type, angle, speed, vspeed, gravity, newtid)

It's an internal function, so it's scripts only.

Thanks UD.

Enjay, no this wasn't inspired by anything specific. It was originally planned as an additional level for DR. If you've played the practise frame you'll have played that 'additional level'. I realised that I wanted to do something more with it so I stripped it from DR and put it to one side while i worked on decade.

If anyone can be bothered to sit through a long (boring) demo then try this...

It shows the sort of tactics I used to score around 42k
