Yeah, I'm liking the new colour scheme too. Plus, Preds are usually kinda greenish-brown, aren't they?

Yup. Or at least paler. The darkness and spotting between the muscles give them their color.

EDIT:

Sigh... I love working on these guys. Full armor for all types, plus masks. Phew... I doubt I'm gonna do a lot of these. Maybe just the P1 and P2 style armor. Plus, the AVP armor is basically the P1 with two chest plates and an abdominal strap. Y'know what? I'll just do what feels right. Many of these have similarities, so we'll see how it goes. In the meantime, enjoy :D .

EDIT:

Due to the large amout of updated pics I've been posting, I won't post one of this -- I've finished the front walking animation for the P1 and AVP Preds. I think I might actually be able to make sheets for almost all of the designs above! It's pretty easy. The belt, chest armor, and head for each design is put together as one image, and so can be dragged and dropped onto each sprite on the recolored Imp sheet I have (I'll make the drag-and-drop images for each angle, of course). The only REAL edit work left is to make the arm and shin armor for each sprite. No biggie!
Actually, this might be a BIT easier than the Alien I did... Plus the attacks should be a blast to do.

@ Blade3327: Not that those recolours don't look cool, but I think it might be more impressive to some rotations. But hey, nobody has a gun to your head...

Unless...

So glad you asked :) .

Two rotations done for the walking animation, along with the FINAL Predator types. I've made some edits to the loincloths and crotch-protecting thingies to further differenciate between the different versions, as well as to boost accuracy. I also darkened Borg's head, because the old green was WAY too bright.

@NiGHTMARE: Y'know, skin recolors like that could be put to very good use in-game; it'll add more variety to the enemies, making things less boring and repetitive.

EDIT:

I was playing around with an emulator for the Aliens vs Predator - Arcade game and found a neat Predator gauntlet picture (you can scroll down this page to see it: http://juicygamer.blogspot.com/2009/07/ ... liens.html ).
The area of the hand above the knuckles was cut off. I thought it'd be cool to give the player the option to be a Predator in a possible project I'm working on, so here is my editing work so far. I'm a little freaked out about how I'll do the wristblades, though...

Image

The left arm and right hand pictures you see are original images from the emulated game, minus the top of the left arm's hand. Everything above the kuckles was cut off, like I said; he was missing the tops of his fingers. I used the top of the right hand picture and tried to blend it into the gauntlet images, to finish the chopped hand.
I then edited that left arm gauntlet and flipped it to create the right arm version. Not too bad a job, although the shading on the larger panel could be improved. Some blurring in GIMP should help, if not more touch-ups in MSPaint.

It'd make sense, since Doomguy kicked hell's ass, and that's something I'd fear more than some wimpy aliens.

But then again, Hell didn't have arm-mounted nukes that go "WAHAHAHAHAHA *BOOM*!".

I'm thinking about making a mod that applies random skin tones via Translation. The problem is, other parts of the former humans other than their skin use some of the same palette entries - the most glaring examples being the HWD's clothes and the bloodstains on the trooper and sargent, but also parts of the sargent's shotgun. Fortunately there's already a green version of the HWD available, so all I really need to do is recolour the shotgun, then set it back to the correct colour via Translation.

Of course, I can also apply Translation to any ID-style former human, not just the original three. If I ever get around to this, it'll most likely include random skin tones for KDIZD's former humans at the very least.

Another thing I'm thinking of, for even more variety, is to have versions of the same type of former human with different heads (including helmets), shoulder pads, etc.

EDIT: For example...
