In first Jazz Jackrabbit there was a 3D sprite in bonus stage. It had complete rotations for standing and complete running animation from behind. Maybe you can base your sprites on it. I had it somewhere but I cant find it now.
Seriously? I'd be really glad if you could find it. Or I might do some googling and find out how to rip stuff from Jazz 1/2...
They weren't THAT cartoony - but it's a drawing, it's not pixel art as the thread name (SPRITING carnival) implies.
Yeah... I know, but I just thought I'd show it off because I thought some people might be interested.

Well... as of now I'm kinda stuck with the ~2~8 rotations, because I don't really know how to make his blaster not look like complete shit. And I still don't like the head in the 1 rotation for some reason...
Does this look like Jazz to you?

So Hexen monsters graphics don't count as sprites because they aren't pixel-drawn? O_o

They aren't? If they're from models, they've been touched up enough that it doesn't show much. I don't think something like the flames around the afrits were made in the model...

Also, many Doom monster graphics (baron, fatso, spider...) are touched up photos of physical objects.

I've seen a picture of where id showed off the Mastermind model somewhere. It was pretty cool to see.

Considering the movement speed of the full-sized final product, I don't blame you. :P

That is one buff-looking hand.
Here's an Alien I've been working on. I never understood why the Aliens TCs would use Imps and other weird Doom monsters as bases, because they're way too muscular. I decided to use the Soul Harvester as my base. Recolored the head, edited out the eyes, and added a few extra details in MS Paint.

Also posted this guy in the "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WORKING ON" thread, but I thought he'd count as legit spriting work, so here you go...

That's a very nice Alien, but shouldn't it have fangs and a larger longer head? Still, it's a very good edit :)

Here's some stuff I've been doing to waste time, a Sarge skin (already finished and uploaded to IdGames) and an alternate chaingunner, he has khaki armour, lighter skin tone and some hair! Dunno what to do with it, might make a good sprite replacement for my yet to be started vanilla megawad.

I think the new Chaingunner is quite badass  . As far as Sarge goes, his head is good but his boots match his hair; therefore he looks as if he's wearing a helmet from behind. Perhaps chaning the color of the boots to the more Doomish khaki color might help?

As for the Alien, I can easily add fangs. He will have an elongated head, but that's not visible from the front view.

EDIT:

About an hour or so later... Might I add this is possibly the most legit Alien sprite I've seen for Doom. Just sayin'.

And please don't make jokes about that thing between his legs (during the attack frames). It's a tail, m'kay?
