Yes for a start, you should just dump all the DEHACKED stuff and convert this to 100% DECORATE.

The biggest reason why I'm not convinced by the feel of this wad is that I feel like I'm playing a reskinned version of Doom with some new maps that resemble Blood's maps.

Some DECORATE ought to make the game have the same feel and atmosphere of the original Blood. As I said before, you will NEVER be able to do it with ZDoom totally (I mean let's admit it, Blood ran on a totally different game engine and several of the features from that engine aren't in ZDoom), but getting the Doom feel out of your mod will be a good start.

Also, you should use the high res monster graphics and use the Scale property... don't scale them in your graphics editor. They look miserable the way they are now. :/

Lastly, use Blood's palette. Doom's palette just isn't suitable for this mod.

They look fine actually, you're probably just loading the wads wrong.

That must be the problem then.

I loaded the whole ZIP into ZDoom. Yay for not reading READMEs (if it was mentioned, that is)!
