PlayerInfo killcount (etc) unsaved when travelling hubs (MP)

During a multiplayer game, if you are using the AltHUD, the counters for kills, items and secrets have three numbers, in this order:

Your personal stat / Stat for the current level / Total amount in the level

So for example, a kill counter of 3/10/150 would mean: I killed 3 monsters/a total of 10 monsters have been killed in this level (by any player)/there are a total of 150 monsters on this level.

However, when playing games with hub maps (like Hexen or Strife), the first number always gets reset to 0. So, for example, if I killed 3 monsters in MAP01, then travel to MAP02, then go back to MAP01, my personal kill stat for MAP01 will show 0.

It looks like the killcount, itemcount and secretcount fields on PlayerInfo aren't saved per level.

It's a known issue. Back when the feature to collect info across a hub was implemented the whole thing was too messed up to handle multiplayer and it never became urgent.
