[3.0.0] Change Rendering Output Menu Issue

When I run Colorful Hell or Brutal Doom, the "Change Rendering Output" Menu is nowhere to be found. Presumably because both mods include custom menu options?

That is correct. I don't know if/how easy this can be fixed. Leaving this open for Graf to decide on.

Indubitably both mods do include custom menus (via MENUDEF) and there is a small catch.

These mods—as well as various other mods—tend not to utilize the AddOptionMenu. This can result in compatibility issues in most cases where some menus will be omitted because the modder/developer didn't utilize AddOptionMenu in their MENUDEF(s).

I've found it kind of quirky but hopefully sooner or later - the issue will come to a halt. :wink:

I am sorry, but this cannot be fixed. If the menu is being replaced, everything is being replaced. It'd be too much work to sort out.
BTW, I frequently discouraged option menu replacement for the precise reason that these menus will inevitably end up broken.

I suppose someone on the wiki can add a highlight/reminder to suggest and encourage the use of AddOptionMenu or maybe even deprecate the use of simple OptionMenu(s).

It's worth pointing out that AddOptionMenu is a relatively new feature (GZDoom 2.4.0+), so while it's absolutely the best way to do this going forward, it's worth noting that this wasn't an option (heh) mods could utilize for a long while.
