Nothing for these guys, unless they happen to have a shield equipped. 5-8 for the shotgun? That's a strange figure. I'm inclined to think that the shotgun pellets might be the outlier here. Make sure every fire state has the norandom flag set. Also, bear in mind that if using Afterglow's difficulty settings, you gain a significant damage bonus when playing on survival mode. It's not random but it is noticeable compared to the other modes.

The FBF_NORANDOM flag was the trick, I was unaware of it (I am fairly inexperienced in zdoom coding). Thanks!
The edited shotgun does lower damage per pellet as compared to afterglow's but fire 8 pellets instead of 6 and at a narrower spread angle and now have recoil. Just a different flavour ;-)

I'm afraid not. There is no headshot modifier unless used with other mods. Damage is either slightly randomised or works through area-of-effect (a dead center hit will do slightly more damage).

Have been thinking of adding this in the future, but currently there is no function for this in ep2.

I've seen various people mentioning a quest involveing Violet and Walker but i can't really tell what they are talking about. Could someone straight out tell me if there's a quest involving those two characters or not?

Violet has a quest to find her friend if you say you have to go the first time you speak to her. Walker (if you can get on his good side - tip: he doesn't like questions much) will give you a job to find something in the Gap, and has special dialogue if you can find it and speak to him after about it.

I've just reached the Botanical Gardens and dear god I'm having flashbacks to playing ALIENS: Eradication, with all the terrifying shit coming out of the walls and nuking 75% of my health if I don't see them before they get a volley off in my direction.

Fantastic mod, enjoying it greatly, as well as the Enriched Edition of 2063. Due to The Sub-Caverns level layout being "fixed", I sat down and recorded a Triple-100% run of 2063 Enriched in one night so that I can replace my videos of the original version.


I'm on v1.05 so I haven't experienced any bugs I don't think. The only criticism that I can think of at this point in the run, which I imagine is something not a lot of people are going to care about, is how absurdly difficult I'm finding the secret-hunting:

I was being extremely neurotic about trying to find the P.I.G. parts and wanted to find every secret in "Act 1" just in case, since obviously I had no idea where the parts would be and don't want to spoil the game for myself. I wasn't even able to find all the secrets using a combination of revealing the Automap and NoClip-flying around each level. I know there's lots of people for whom esoteric secrets are part of the appeal of exploration-heavy FPS games, though, so making the secrets easier to find is not an appropriate answer.

I want more ASHES, and I wish more modders would take the route of trying to create very grounded and immersive level design. We need more TrenchFoots, Aliens: Eradications, Alfonzones, Lost Civilizations, and more Ion Furies and AMC TCs.

Finished Ep1. Enriched. I do appreciate the change to eradicate hit-scanners, and other mechanics tweaks, but i stay by my previous statement that the old textures felt better and more suitable. Also, some select areas in Enriched are far too brightly lit, whereas before those areas were dark and moody.

Playing Afterglow 1.05, and i find Phantoms to have some buggy behavior. At the place near the computer, where there are four of them at once, i damaged one of them about half-way, he froze on the spot, and other phantoms started shooting HIM and ignore me entirely. There were a couple other instances of phantoms freezing up when i shoot them about half to death.
