finally the marine is armed with a bolter... after having to manually place the bolter around 300 times (animation frames)

so... time for weapon plans for some of the most recent models...

space marines - bolter -> high caliber self propelled miniature rockets
sergeants -> I will add some kind of weapon to them as well
mutated marine -> shoots fireballs from his mouth and uses fists in hand to hand combat
librarian and undeaD marines -> shoots magical projectiles from their hands, perhaps the librarian will also get some offensive spells like lightning etc

Ok, so I was pretty sure this whole GZDoom adventure with After Dawn and my push to create 3D models for GZDoom

could

not

get

any

more

EPIC

....

then I get a test version of the maverick 3d model editor on email from the author of the editor

this newest version that he compiled a few hours earlier... is a version that actually allows me to attach an imported model to a specific tag during import.... thus solving the weapon problem once and for all...

the version number of the test version is identical to the newest on his site : https://clover.moe/mm3d/
but the test version has additional options in the import window that are not present in the latest official version

I'm guessing this version will see a public release with an incremented version number at some point in the future!


holy mother of john carmack.... I will be released some pretty badass minipacks for GZDoom now... a lot... of minipacks... this is going to be so damn cool

I already have a version of the ork warrior model now that is weilding a fricking boltgun.... without having to endure animation issues....

I am on cloud god damn 9 right now...


my friends... I have ascended to GZDoom 3D heaven!

EDIT:

I can even add weapon models that were not made specifically for quake 3 models

Now that I can arm the monsters... with any weapon and attach them to the weapon tag....

I have then decided that only the mutated marine will remain unarmed and thus will be the only marine to replace the demon (good old pinkie)

I will get back to mapping, but right now I have so much 3D stuff I need to get done in order to have a sufficient selection of stuff to build the levels on

For example... undead monsters for the aztek map....

Dead dark angel traitor marines?
dead skeleton knights?
flying cursed skulls?
Skeletons with various hand to hand weapons
mummy
ghosts
vampires
zombies with various hand to hand weapons
the dead anubis alien pharao himself

Then comes decorations.....
then pickups....

player class and Weapons are already sorted thanks this being build on top of genetech

Maybe a magic dude will be added as an extra player class so some of the spells can be used
