I really don't know why this is happening with you, all my playtesters reported a significant increase in performance today with no drawbacks.
I'd say try wiping your config entirely and see if anything changes.

Here's a demonstration. on second mapo hitching is even more noticable due to increased time frame and therefore even more increased delay when frames are dropped. Ironiocally it fails to show in recording due to overall performance drop courtesy of the recorder, so in recording it is more noticable on 1st map, which this video clearly shows.

Wiping config helped for some reason but not entirely. Now I get an FPS boost up to more playable 40-45 on gs02, and the hitching is less noticable but its still there some times. Maybe its related to the LOD checks added somehow?
Anyway, do you have an idea about what in my config could have such a weird impact? I've set my other settings and nothing has decreased my FPS again.

Usually it’s good practice to delete the config once every often cause it tends to cause unexpected issues when switching to newer Gzdoom versions, can’t really pinpoint why other than changes in the code that also affect the config definitions.

Anyway, i’ll see if others have hitching like you, and if that’s the case I’ll potentially revert the change.

Looks like the new update causes game to crash with "ZDoom Very Fatal Error" screen if you load it with Vulkan render

Fiddling with NVidia driver settings seems to have solved the hitching issue for me completely. Combination of "max pre rendered frame"s at 1 and "low latency mode" "on", which was supposed to fix some input lag issues I had in another game, was giving me the hitching. Changing either of those settings to any other value fixes the hitching for me, putting them in that exact combo makes it return. Not sure why it interacts with whatever was changed in the hotfix the way it does, but those settings didn't have any effect (adverse or positive) on GZDoom before. Must have been something in the old config, though I tried experimenting with it by pasting segments into the new config, but had no luck in pinpointing the issue. Maybe its a combo of many different unlucky factors.

In any case, problem seems to be solved on my end, thank you.

In first place amazing ideas into the game @Batandy . Really nice ideas like the double jump and and jumping long distances.

I'm playing the demo, but can't figure out this. It seem I'm being killed by enemies out of the field of view. Playing on the last GZdoom (4.5), standard settings. Here's a video showing it. Any known bug on the demo or on a GZdoom version that causes it you know?

If I had to take a guess, it seems like you're loading this with the wrong IWAD, as the imps are there, but their sprites and sounds are missing.

Yes, that was it. I was seeing some enemies, other not. I was loading with Castlevania - Simon's Destiny as the Iwad. Thanks for the tip. Now going to play it.

Nice trailer! Looking forward to see how it all wraps up, I recently completed GS1 and GS2 and I'm sure this sequel is gonna be even better :)
