in much older versions of this mod, it did have brutal heretic like gore, but was phased out due to resource intensive concerns.

Hello Irontusk thanks for the reply.

Sounds epic, I'm 99% sure this would work, the theory is to then remap the menu arrowkeys in the options to the wand axis, I'm not too sure if the Skills menu needs strafe left/right remapped to the menu arrow keys?

I see. I have an old CPU Haswell I7-4970K and it runs Brutal Doom, Project Brutality and PB + Russian Overkill with nearly no lag. And the atmosphere is greatly enhanced because of it.

Maybe one day we can use an optional patch to enable on the client side again? I see that in doomseeker some client mods are optional.

Hello Irontusk and thanks for the reply.

I'm not too sure what the issue is here but there's 127 decorate errors on startup?

I noticed the Classic Diablo3D is 50mb but the update you linked, the .pk3 is now 490mb?

You cant use the 4.x.x GZDoom with VR just yet, is that the reason? Is the new Diablo.pk3 required for 4.x.x?

I extracted the menudef out of the update to the 50mb version but it still crashes, so I placed the code into the KEYDEF in the wrathofcronos.pk3 and it now starts but theres problems.

I noticed that's the same code as what I wrote here? But the code is repeated?

1. Theres double entries for each menu direction in the options?

2. When you remap ie Menu up' it assigns every direction the same? You cannot assign left/right/up/down individually.

3. Doesn't work with any input key.

4. Skills menu is still assigned to movement keys which has to be changed to the arrow keys.

I'm sure this would work if the Skills menu was edited for the new 'Diablo menu keys' as example, if I remove all movement and strafe keys,, the skills menu is blank for directions.

When you access the skills menu, it tells you the directions on top of the screen, those directions are locked to movement keys which would have to change to the new keys we allocated.


NEW UPDATE

Just discovered the Menu key script and its located in the bloody ACS! I have now found the default movement strings BT_MOVEFORWARD which luckily GZDoom devs allocated 4 extra spare strings, which is now Menu up/down/left/right.

Now after compiling the new ACS I then remapped the Vive wand axis to the new controls and it works!

FINALLY DIABLOVR!!!!!!!

Just got weapon 2 for the mage, frost shards and the enemy sprites when you freeze them, theres a huge black box around the freeze sprite?

Would you mind pointing us to where those freeze enemy sprites are located? Maybe I have to replace them with the updated version?

Also the Skills menu, you cant move up the menu, only down the menu, so I'll edit the ACS.

i found out why the MB difference is there for the 2 Diablo 3D's, the PK3 just uploaded contains the soundtrack, as the other one, the soundtrack was a separate pk3 file.

No its a completely different version, Classic files was modified 2018 and this update was modified feb2020, most of the configs in the update are 2020.

You updated the wrong version. Its ok I fixed the issue at last by editing and recompiling a new ACS.

Regardless its working, but where are these freeze sprites located Irontusk? We need to either fix the transparency value or just disable the transparency on the freeze sprites.

Its the same example as your profile picture, basically you can see the enemy freeze sprite but its boxed.

Please help Irontusk as you cant see once you freeze an enemy with a huge black box blocking your view.

I am using the classic version.

That link you sent is broken with VR. I am not using the version you linked.

I can see the enemy sprite 'ingame' but again its surrounded by a black box, after much research its an issue with the sprites alpha transparency which I believe needs to be altered.

I don't know where the ice enemy sprites are located in the .pk3 files.

i believe the ice sprite resources were located in the gzdoom.pk3 file.

Final Expansion PATCH coming called "ENDGAME"

the goal of this expansion pack is,

-introduce final balancing changes and lower amount of loot dropping while increasing types of loot

-Godly Texture updates, Working with Hoover1979 on making some eye popping textures to replace some buggy old textures, and possibly increase performance by instead of stacking textures into a pk3 but stack them in their specific folders.

-level layout changes, Some dungeons will see some layout changes, to increase the atmosphere of a level.

-return of the gratuitous amount of gore on monster deaths.

-find and kill any last remaining bugs and glitches in the game (if any are left)

-more dedication to Diablo 3D VR support as its popularity increases.


STAY TUNED FOR MORE!!

Once Endgame is released, i may focus on 3 new projects that i have been drawing up, A mod for Doom with hubs called "Land of Devastation" (Based on the BBS Door Game by Scott Baker), A doom map wad revival i experimented with back in 2011, and finally a Heretic (Doom 2 level based) mod based on Bram Stokers Dracula (SNES/GENESIS).
