Man, why is it that whenever I want Joel to try something Vinny beats him to it? First Mr. Bones, now this. I guess I'll wait until it's on Youtube, even though his past Doom streams have been infuriating at points.

Hey, I just downloaded this, and I'm really enjoying it.

Stupid question, is it possible to switch from the time stopping thing back to the daggers, or will I need to pick up another dagger pickup?

You have to pick another one, because you can only hold one subweapon like in the original game

I'd like to see some sort of visual cue to the whip's range.

I've also been thinking about that, and I was wondering if it could be done like it is in Skelegant's Dio mod. Each part of the chain acts like a still projectile fired by the player, so the end of that chain signifies the end of the hitbox. The only issue is that the leather whip you start with might look a little silly if you tried to segment it like that.

On a similar note, I found the mummies very frustrating to fight because I could barely see their projectiles (also because I shouldn't have picked up that knife outside their chamber but details). I think it might help if they were just a row of mummy-colored particles or something along those lines.

I am not able to get this to work on Mac (High Sierra). I have all my IWADs located in

Code: Select all

~/Library/Application Support/gzdoom
. The GZDoom.app & .ipk3 is located in

Code: Select all

/Applications/GZDoom
. The IWAD selection screen does not list the Castlevania mod in there. Am I missing a step to install for Mac?

I don't know because i don't own a Mac, if somebody else can answer it would be really helpful, but still, are you using the latest Gzdoom version?

I get this error every time I try to run it.

"Execution could not continue.

Script error, "Castlevania.pk3:dec_weps" line 22:
Sprite names must be exactly 4 characters"

What do?

i think this is an amazing mod. now that i've said that, i think it's kind of insane that the zombies can kill you within about 2 seconds even on the easiest mode by draining your life almost instantly. that doesn't really represent those enemies in any of the old school CV games, at all. also it seems too hard to kill the bats with the whip for some reason.

I finally got it working for Mac. I had to unzip the ipk3 file and then move the WAD file out of it into

Code: Select all

~/Library/Aplication Support/gzdoom
So I gotta say man, this is one of the best games I've ever played that's FPS-ish. EVERYTHING is perfect about this game. And it's hard as can be even on Half Moon setting. Great work developer!
