The irony. :P

I'm afraid I can't find how to download this new version. When I try, the site asks me to create an account...

Thank you very much.

Also, if the GZDoom version (not Zandronum version) is still using KEYCONF to declare playerclass, may I please request that this is moved to MAPINFO, as in how I did it?

While you're at it, zip up the file. You can shave about 20MB off the download size by doing that and 24MB by using a 7z.

Seriously, why is everyone uploading uncompressed files these days :?:

Is there any need to include source ports and a copy of Freedoom.wad in the archive? Just tell people what ports it works with all will be good. I see no need for the standalone version if you ask me.

Also, please upload the files to something that doesn't require me to 1) Make an account or 2) Connect with social media to download.

It's hard to get everything for some people (like some spanish speakers). And some people like to just download one thing and play immediately.

I have had a quick play of the first few levels. I like what I see. It feels quite old-school TC ish but with a lot of newer techniques thrown in too. That works quite nicely IMO. So far it seems good.

Startup messages at the console:

Code: Select all

LoadActors: Load actor definitions.
Attempt to get invalid state Death from actor HeliBoom.
...
Adding dehacked patch PinochesteinGL-EN.wad:DEHACKED
Unknown chunk //Me encountered. Skipping.
Unknown chunk //pa encountered. Skipping.
Unknown chunk //el encountered. Skipping.

I did what you said, and works well.

Well, it was a novice error. But i reuploaded all separate wads in zip.

EDIT: I left the Dehacked in case of errors (this error has solution but ignored it to give priority to other problems presented during the WIP), it would be good to also help me find other errors in order to improve the TC.

It's just a "Starter pack" for people who has no idea about Doom based ports.
About the files, i reuploaded to Dropbox.

Thank you. :)

I'm just grumpy because there have been a lot of people just dumping uncompressed files onto download sites recently. I know that 40MB isn't huge by today's standards but there are still plenty of people with slow connections where that will take quite a few minutes to download. If the file can be made less than half its size by compressing it, the download time (and upload time for that matter) will also be less than half so it just makes sense to do it IMO.

Now I'm on map20, Jesus Christ this game is waaay harder than the original, now almost every enemy has a hitscan attack which make them more annoying at distances.
Also I've found a couple of bugs through the game (check the coordinates if you don't know where it is exactly):
Spoiler:
These textures scroll down along with the water.
Spoiler:
Are those middle textures supposed to be there? The 1st one has no purpose since it's next to a secret door, and the 2nd seems to be on the wrong side.
Spoiler:
This helicopter can't teleport to the main area.

And you should add the +DONTSPLASH flag to the generated strobe light and fire actors.
Spoiler:
