Most likely because it's placeholder art, the real art not being ready yet.

Pretty cool how the starting weapons remain useful even after acquiring better weapons. EDIT: Well, except for the Pilebunker in 'Supplice' mode...

However, am I to understand that the game does not allow armor overstack?

Also, holy shit, you are telling the story through computer terminals, Marathon-style?!? I honestly was not expecting that from a GZDoom project.

Also, why is the player-character a non-descript grey avatar? I was under the impression from older artwork that the character was going to be feminine-presenting.
We actually had permission from Vader (who made the Flesh Spawn) to use the sprites in the game. But we decided against it since we want a consistent art style across all of the entities. Anyways I would imagine that we'll put out newer trailers as things progress.

And yes, the player sprites are placeholders. Actually many aspects of the game are still in work-in-progress states. Monster sprites are just renders right now, Cage will be doing touch ups to them at some point. The powerup system is going to be a bit different, with some of them being inventory-based (that's the current plan at least). The armor system is going to be a bit different as well. We just didn't have the time to get everything finished up for the demo, but what's there is pretty representative of the direction we're going.

That fucking chaingunner feels overpowered. I'm losing 20hp per hit from across the map on easy.

Haha, yea the Tandem will be getting a nerf for sure :P. Likely a cut in HP and a delay in his reaction time, maybe more.

Wow, really?

Because based on my experience in "Outpost Romeda" alone, I can safely say that what you have here is already really, really good! :3:

As I pointed out here and on the Steam forum, the game ended up reminding me of Bungie's Marathon, with the computer terminals and all. About time someone made a proper spiritual successor!

If you think that is bad, just know that I played the demo on 'Supplice'.

But yeah, the Tandem is like a mini-Spider Mastermind right now: he is absolutely lethal at short range and also surprisingly much tankier than Doom's Chaingunner.

Doom's answer to Ion Fury draws nearer. At long last! Gotta take a look as soon as I can.

Well, since Ion Fury runs on the latest version of the Build engine, I would say it is the opposite, i.e. Ion Fury being the answer to Doom! :p

Technically, Supply's development started long before Ion Fury, anyway. Was rather talking about its general style.

I thought the latest version of the IdTech engine was IdTech 7, which is what Doom: Eternal uses. :o

Well, calling the Doom engine "idTech" is a retrofit anyway. idTech wasn't a term coined until idTech 5 (Rage Engine). Which partly explains all the weird point-something versions listed here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Id_Tech

So, not the latest version of idTech - the latest version of the Doom engine as wildweasel said. ;)

I have waited for so long and i'm totally happy with the result. Good work guys!! I've beaten all maps in normal difficulty and of course i'm impressed. The quality of mapping, textures and enemy designs are over the top and definitely fit together. Also i think this game mostly focuses on ambushes and traps, giving me a fair challenge instead of annoying me. Although it's still at demo state, the wait was worth it.
Spoiler: Also since it being a demo and all i might keep out the Graphical stuff. Here's the feedback!
Glitches aside, i must say it feels almost complete and has a lot of value into it. Someone probably found out the glitches i have mentioned here and wrote the whole thing on Steam page, but ZDoom Forum is pretty reliable when it comes to sending feedback within a small time. Or it's just me!

Overall, i enjoyed Supplice a lot especially the Marathon-esq messages! Neato reference :D
