HeXen: Confliction (New Monsters for HeXen)

HeXen: Confliction (New Monsters for HeXen)

A huge monster wad based on random spawners.
To make HeXen more fresh, now you can play through all the HeXen levels, or your favourite maps, with new medieval style monsters (From your favourite FPS games and new modified ones! No enemies with guns or cyborg parts, monster sprites will fit Thematically and not based on graphic style, which is an obvious bother to some.) every time you reload!

Loosely based on my dreams of a child of having all my favourite monsters together, and AEons of Death which did a similar feel to Doom
(No I wont be using ALL enemies or weapons from AEoD, Also enemies here we'll script as accurate to their original games :) aswell)


Addons of Classes, inventory items and weapons are planned as well as a new levels, with specific story lines and goals for each classes, and the boss class enemies + the 3 Serpent Riders will all have apperences, and unique boss arenas made for that boss.

(Your yellow text is very difficult to read for those of us that aren't using the Dark theme - fixed that for you. -ww)

Nice. Right now I only see new monsters, but since you've stated that this is the Aeons of Death for HeXen... are there going to be new weapons as well?

Yeah, theres plans for that, scenery, and perhaps new classes, specific boss levels, new rpg levels, and extended/modified HeXen story which will put Heretic, HeXen and HeXen 2 bosses, characters together.

I think you should contact the author of HexenHanced (NeuralStunner). Maybe you could team-up with him, of course if he wants to.

If i was able to rip graphics from Dungeon keeper, i'll have then good money and spell icons sprites, however, i don't know how to rip them.

I'm not sure if this is such a good idea, we already have AEOD, do we really need a mod that's a copy of it? :/

This wad will only contain medieval style monsters, it will have a plot and not random crud tossed together for lulz and the enemies will be scripted as accurate as they were in their origins. There will be monsters what are not in AEons of Death.

Also, AEod was a great way of plaything through Doom again, and favourite wads with original feel. Now WE do same for HeXen. ^~^
As we cannot have you fighting different bosses in Korax or Zedek's stage there will also be specific boss stages.
To explain why Korax's army has shot sky high, Corvus apperance, and why the other 2 serpent riders have shown up, there will also be a new story, which might be different depending on what class you pick.


EDIT: just got my hands on the Daggerfall enemie sprites :wink:

As much as I believe Hexen needs improvement, I don't think Hexen would be improved with the addition of new monsters. New weapons, maybe. But the only thing that could bring Hexen higher, to me, is the removal or complete overhaul of the puzzle items. Right now, it's just a glorified key hunt and has none of the brainpower that I'd expect from something called a "puzzle."

I agree, its not like Doom where its a open doors, gun down dozens of monsters.

I plan to add new classes, and new levels with them.

As for the item hunt on the main levels, I plan to sproose up some new items and weapons for the 3 default classes to not just add new horde to Korax's army, but also make it more fun and swift and hacking through large numbers.

The correct md5 checksum for the latest retail hexen.wad (official patch applied) is: ABB033CAF81E26F12A2103E1FA25453F
If you have different the you may have an older version of hexen. Try to patch hexen with last official patch.
I've done this many years back, so obvious I don't remember exactly how I updated my copy of hexen. Since I only kept the wad.
