Impressive. Most impressive. Indeed you are powerful.
Yes...Perhaps *too* powerful!

No, seriously, that's awesome.

Some areas in levels are so dark you can't see anything. maybe brightening them up a bit in the next beta would be nice, maybe you can add the PSX Final Doom SSG in it would also be nice, too. great project though. Also how do you get the music pack to activate? I dragged and dropped it on GZDoom.exe like I doo with my WADs and the TC but nutin .

Some of the areas in the PlayStation version were actually very dark. The values I used were imported directly from the PlayStation version. Changing the brightness would involve manually going through 59 levels and changing the values of a lot of sectors. It is just not worth it when you can easily go into the settings and change it to whatever you are comfortable with. Try playing around with the Gamma Correction, Brightness, and Contrast. So the simple answer is no.

Also, I changed the following setting:
Options>Display Options>OpenGL Options>Sector Light Mode=Standard

Tried it. Doesn't scale very well. I decided to leave the weapons as they are. If someone knows how to do it, and make it look nice, I am will add it to the project. Just PM me.

Create a shortcut to GZDoom with the following parameters:

Code: Select all

gzdoom.exe -file PSXTC.PK3 PSXTCMUS.PK3

The darkness in PSX Doom, coupled with the creepy ass ambient music and sounds was what made it so great. Having to rely on your automap while blindly avoiding monsters was so great. :P

If you don't want to use fender's method, you can also just add it to your skins folder. I have it there and PSX sounds there permanently.

This will work with standard Doom IWADs and should work with other mods as long as they don't redefine any of the weapon or key names. I can't guarantee it will work and haven't really bug tested it, but here it is...

Download PlayStation Doom HUD (36.98 KB) (Updated March 29, 2008)

gzdoom.exe -file PSXTC.PK3 PSXTCMUS.PK3
The one music pack I downloaded is from the front page and it is a ZIP, not PK3. Can you upload a PK3 version? and how do I create a GZDoom shortcut with the following parameters?

Ok, can you give me step by step instructions on making a shortcut to GZDoom with the following parameters? Because I'm not familiar with this stuff.

Use a program like WinZip or WinRar to extract the zip file into the same folder as GZDoom.

Add PSXTCMUS.PK3 to your target.
