I think this would be a good thing too. I like my little doomguy mug showing.
BTW, the screenshot - "Europe" right? You're the Europe guy? I just DL'd that and played it earlier today. Pretty good fun and some nice "city" effects. The size an monster count meant the gameplay wasn't quite to my taste, but it is certainly an interesting map.
You quite creatively used the standard Doom textures in many places, but some custom (city textures especially) would have brought it alive IMO.

Let's hope that Randy likes the idea and adds it in ZDooM's future versions

Yes, Im the creator of this map, thanks for your good review . The size of the map is too big, but thankfully the ZDooM supports it.
I use the DooM original textures to demonstrate that with DooM's scanty resources very interesting maps can be done, and can made a lot of diferent environments. If I had used custom textures the merit it would not have been the same...
Link please? I couldn't find it on Google or /idgames...DooMknight wrote:BTW, the screenshot - "Europe" right? You're the Europe guy? I just DL'd that and played it earlier today. MMMMmmm but in some wads the DooMGuy face was changed and the fullscreen hud looks too bad in the moderns SP, I prefer view the face in "newhud" mode, like Quake III Arena...Bashe wrote:I think the little Doomguy face would be nice for the fullscreen HUD, since some wads need fullscreen HUD, but without the status bar it doesn't feel Doom anymore for me.
The gameplay sucks really bad. Not nearly enough health and ammo problems along the way. The lake area is just one huge bug in the map, I could noclip through walls and monsters, it made a maxkill impossible. The monster count is a bit fake seeing how half of the monsters are zombiemen and imps. Below average.

The bug in the north of the map are generated because the node builder (BSP 5.0) dont support these nodes, It is a zone that the BSP doesnt recognize as map, and doesnt create good nodes.Belial wrote:The gameplay sucks really bad. The gameplay this created for players with experience, the life is scanty, but this done to add difficulty, the ammo is not a problem, there is the sufficient...
But no problem, it is normal that the map doesnt like to the entire world
