I love how grainy the software renderer looks, especially in its native 320x200. It's a major lacking element in opengl mode. I feel that a film grain effect can accomplish a similar result in opengl mode. Maybe there could also be a way to adjust grain density and opacity too. Honestly, I'd probably be using software mode if it wasn't prone to crashing with a triple monitor setup(QZDoom), but I'm loving the immersion, so I'm torn. I'd really love to be able to play doom engine games in software mode at 960x200, but it appears that I can't do it.

This is something that should be done using a mod.
