SBARINFO level timer precision options

Postby Xterra » Sat Sep 14, 2019 3:47 pm

When making custom HUDs via SBARINFO, the level timer available via DrawString is hours:minutes:seconds; so, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be too hard to implement variants of that (using different keywords, like "time2", "timea", etc.) to allow for differing precisions on the timer, as with the Alt Hud's level timer option.

I particularly would want an "hours:minutes:seconds.00" (12:34:56.78 or 12:34'56"78) format of timer, but I'm sure other modders would appreciate something like "hours:minutes:seconds:tics", "minutes:seconds.00" or such.
I could see the "tics" option being useful for scrutinizing gameplay footage and/or debugging.

If it ain't too tough to do it for level timers, maybe game time and hub time could be treated the same way.

You can do it yourself if you switch to using ZScript to create HUDs. Don't hold your breath for this to be added to SBARINFO. SBARINFO is deprecated and won't be developed any further.
