Expose the Map format to ZScript (UDMF, Hexen, Doom)

Post by XxMiltenXx »

It would be good to have the Mapformat of the current map exposed to ZScript, e.g. if it is UDMF, if it is the Doom map format etc.
This could be useful in conjunction with the WorldLineActivated events, as many specials have different IDs throughout all the different map formats. Being able to check the map format could ensure that something only happens on the correct line special.

Internally you will never get Doom format values and not even all of Hexen format values. There is no useful decision that can be made on the map format - all the relevant differences are encoded into a few level flags and the ones that have some use for modders are already exposed.

In fact a proper full conversion of a Doom format map to UDMF including all the special quirks will appear to be exactly the same to your mod.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that, cause for the editors the numbers differ.

Thanks for clarification.
