CVar for setting the colour of undiscovered secrets

Post by phantombeta »

Basically, a CVar like am_secretsectorcolor and/or am_secretwallcolor, but for secrets that you haven't found yet. It's rather annoying having to switch am_map_secrets between 1 and 2 to find out which secrets I haven't found yet.

Haha, I remember once making an alias that would alternate between both repeatedly just to make unfound secrets blink.

(something like alias secretblink "am_map_secrets 1; wait 5; am_map_secret 2; wait 5; secretblink" IIRC.)

But is this working? I don't see any difference with the latest SVN. Sure, you can edit the color but i don't see secrets on the map until discovered.
Also i'm getting the following errors on Windows 7 64 bit with fluidsynth selected:

libWildMidi(_WM_InitReader:53): ERROR Unable to load (Invalid argument)
timidity.cfg: Unable to load sound fontUnable to create FluidSynth MIDI device. Falling back to Windows Default

Sorry but i still don't see any difference, am_cheat is already set to 1 and with am_map_secrets 2 i already saw all secrets in older versions. :?

The new CVAR affects unexplored secrets only. Did you apply the patch correctly?

@drfrag
Did you change am_unexploredsecretcolor? If not, it'll look just like it does without this. Here's how it looks with a color different than the default value: (The purple sectors in this screenshot are the undiscovered secrets)

@Rachael
Thanks for adding this, it's a huge time saver, since now I don't have to keep switching the value of am_map_secrets.
