Corpses fade over time

Post by ShockwaveS08 »

I would like to toss in a suggestion, based on the ZSCRIPT found here: viewtopic.php?f=105&t=59287

If a killed enemy doesn't have a "Raise" state, have GZDoom fade away the enemy in question after a configurable time period, and have it "delete" the actor in question afterwards to conserve resources. Would be more-useful for lower-end players, or those who like to go nuts.wad...

The reason why this was rejected is because this is a do-it-yourself kind of thing. Fading implies eventually removing and eventually removing a thing from the game is not a good idea in a deterministic engine (yes, I know Nash pulled it off but that was an unholy hack and it just should never be done).

You can create a mod to do this if you need this functionality.
