"Normals" and "Specular" folders like Brightmaps
If this isn't already in yet for the upcoming materials, I'd like to suggest having it allow auto-assign by the same name just as Brightmaps do -- with the same name, they don't need a definition.
Can this be done?

I agree that this certainly would make the feature a lot easier to use. Let's see what Graf and dpJudas say.

Heh, to me it makes sense for feature completeness too.

It was always the intention the auto feature should work as well - just haven't gotten around to it yet. That said, you'll still have to declare the materials in GLDEFS if you want to control the specular level, even if it does allow you to skip the texture lines.

Fine by me. Just not needing to define the filename if it has the same one already is what I'm after.

Thinking about part D of a feature when part A isn't fully done yet...

This is a very big and intrinsic feature. Sometimes little details like this are forgotten.

Hah.
Eh, come to think about it since there's going to be so many things, such as Normal, Specular, AO, Metalicness, Roughness, Brightmap and whatever else there are... I can't help but wonder if these aught to be tucked away into a subfolder called GL. Or at least made able to find the folders inside.

Ooh, this sounds awesome! Will there be alpha maps also? I just started doing some yesterday and thought, "Hey it'd be good if we could do these like brightmaps". ie:

When is this going to be added to the main branch? And what is possible with it now?
Re: "Normals" and "Specular" folders like Brightmaps
_mental_ discovered some problems with the 3.3 render path that I'm currently looking at. Hopefully after that there won't be any more known issues.
