Particles' movement updated at 35hz instead of uncapped?

Particles' movement updated at 35hz instead of uncapped?
Is it just me or are the particles' positions updated at 35hz, even with the uncapped framerate setting? Was this deliberate or a programming mistake?

They are indeed. It seems interpolation was never implemented for them.
