Identify thing number with properties problem

Postby Enjay » Sun Oct 10, 2021 5:57 am

As mentioned here: viewtopic.php?f=123&p=1202608 I got an error message about a couple of things on a map with strange thing properties.
Code: Select allExpand view
Unknown UDMF thing key 1
Unknown UDMF thing key 2
Unknown UDMF thing key 4
Unknown UDMF thing key 32
Unknown UDMF thing key 64
Unknown UDMF thing key 128
Unknown UDMF thing key 256
Unknown UDMF thing key 512
Unknown UDMF thing key 1024
Unknown UDMF thing key 1
Unknown UDMF thing key 2
Unknown UDMF thing key 4
Unknown UDMF thing key 32
Unknown UDMF thing key 64
Unknown UDMF thing key 128
Unknown UDMF thing key 256
Unknown UDMF thing key 512
Unknown UDMF thing key 1024

It was a little tricky to track them down. I had to open the TEXTMAP lump and search for the properties "names" to try and identify which particular things were causing the issue. Thankfully, there were only two affected items and the number 1024 only cropped up three times in the map (once for a genuine reason, the others were in the above problem things).

Is it possible for GZDoom to report thing numbers for this particular error?

[edit] I just realised that UDB can search for thing properties - which makes finding the items a bit easier, but it would still be useful for GZDoom to identify the things if it can. [/edit]

And a similar one - going through some more maps, I also got this with one of them:

Again, UDB was able to track them down and, looking at the map, these were probably all line type 121 in Hexen format and I *think* this map was converted with a command line tool rather than using UDB (or GZDoomBuilder as it would have been at the time). Again, the GZDoom message doesn't identify which lines have the problem.
