Texture/Sprite Particles?

Got the idea from another topic.

Could it be possible we get sprite/texture particles?

Use case: would help optimize weather systems and other effects that are visual only.

I've been using Aperigon's weather system, but it does occupy a bit of a performance hit upon first use. Precaching the actual weather percipitation object helps but I was wondering if there was a better way to handle such things.

This would be for particle objects that are just visual only and don't need the intensive operations of objects with Tick().
