Double-res Fullscreen HUD Scale option

Postby Minigunner » Tue Aug 05, 2014 12:16 pm

As mentioned in this thread several years back, for some people with high-resolution monitors (myself included), a non-scaled HUD is barely readable while a 320x200-scaled HUD is far too large (and with some custom huds, can clutter the screen). I want to revisit this suggestion if only due to HUDs being far more modular than they were in 2006.
In short, I would like a menu option to at least do double-resolution scaling for the fullscreen HUD. However, since resolution can be customized in SBARINFO, I'd also like the double-res option to not take priority over the Resolution property, unless a flag ("allowdoubleres", something like that) can be implemented to allow such scaling to override what the SBARINFO sets.

I've found that the console can get hard to read at higher resolutions as well... What might be better is a general "virtual screen size" for UI elements.

Zandronum has something like this for Text, the same could possibly work for HUD Elements as well. I'd keep the settings separate for the two however.
