I want to create an effect where everything is dark except for an area around the player that I can edit the size of. Basically fog, though for some reason no matter how high I set the fog value it's not nearly close enough to the player, so im resorting to this. However, I can't find ANY tutorials on this at all and most links lead back to "see info on GLDEFS to fix your problem". Thing is, im an absolute begginer who started modding doom yesterday. Could someone please paste code to add a customizable point light to the player? Help would be VERY much appreciated

Could you please just paste the code to make a light and attach it to the player, I can't understand any of that. Sorry (btw my names different cuz i got an account)
