Could this 3D model be converted to MD3?

Post by ibm5155 »

Spoiler:
https://mega.nz/#!1p4l3CJQ!M4Dfss9O9I46 ... T3zy7IaEYI
I tried to make a static md3 model from it, without the extra animations, even resize, but the md3 converter always froze while converting it to md3...
Ehm, do you guys have any clue why this is happening?

Reduce the poly count. Too many polygons are present in the model for it to properly import into Doom.

hm it could be (But in that case I'd wait for an error message).
but for that case, is there any tool to reduce the poly count without doing that manually by hand?
EDIT:
Transformed that 3D model in a ultra low poly with a blender plugin but the MD3 plugin still hang to convert that 3D model...

Reduce the total animation frames to 1. No wonder it freezes, you are trying to export 158986 frames of animation.

As for making the mesh low poly, it's just Blender's stock Decimator modifier.

being cancer or not it helped me with some neat stuff like being able to make a 3d model with less polygons but still looking like the same as before.
Also, Here is the result of my trial, not as good as someone did in this forum with the knuckles model but I'm fine with it.
