Add silver gradient to sprite while keeping detail?
If you recently looked into Spriting Carnival, then you'll see that I've uploaded this WIP sprite based on a model linked to that SC post.
What I would like is to add a silver gradient to the sprite in a program like Paint.NET while keeping all the visible crevices and other detail seen on the model.
Any help?

What exactly do you mean by "silver gradient"? Maybe you can provide a picture showing what how you would like it to look?

Something like this flamethrower I made a while back, but silver.

There's blending modes you might want to try. Add this silver gradient you're talking about to a new layer (but matching the shape that you want) then play with the blending modes. Such modes will be "Normal, Multiply, Additive, Screen, Overlay" - and a few others worth checking out.
