3D Floors + Slope?

Post by ToxicBlade_2505 »

Is it possible to make a floating slope in doom builder? Just a question.

1. Need to draw your 3D sectors perpendicular and aligned to how you want them in your map.

2. Tiny WAD shows aligned (right) and unaligned (left) sectors.

Don't bother with that old clunky method, use visual sloping in UDB!

Didn't even know that capability existed. Been doing it my way for years. Now I have something else I have to learn and perfect.

Edit:

Spent a few hours playing around with it and I'm not totally impressed. My 3D sectors are usually just flat "floors" like stairs or simple slopes for stringers. Trying to make railings using 3D Floor Mode was a pain. I prefer my way. I guess if I need more complicated slopes for 3D sectors I'll be using it.

It did resolve a "blocking" problem I had that was driving me crazy. I had a slope in front of a tunnel you had to crouch to go through. Using 181 Plane Align prevented the Player from entering the tunnel from the slope end for some reason. Jarvis Blunderstut suggested using the 3D Floor Mode slope and it resolved the problem. For that I was very grateful as it was driving me crazy.
