Block Walking Monsters Only?

Is it just me, or is there no way in UDMF to set a flag that blocks walking monsters but allows floating monsters to pass?

I can block all monsters, and I can block everything but I can only do the opposite opposite of what I want - block floating monsters. There doesn't seem to be a way to allow them through when everything else is blocked.

Personally, it just strikes me as a weird omission (if indeed it is one). There are many occasions where I have wanted to block walkers but allow floaters past (resorting to invisible 1 pixel-wide deep trenches and so on). I don't think that I have ever needed to do the opposite. So I am really intrigued as to why the spec resulted in options that, for me anyway, are far less likely to be needed.

I would post this as a feature suggestion but I suspect it's something to do with UDMF specs rather than GZDoom specific. If it is something that can be added (and, of course, if it doesn't already exist) then I can easily post it as a suggestion.

I remember this. You've posted this before.

Edit: What about an invisible actor? Like a bridge or railing?

I would suggest posting it as a suggestion, worst that can happen is Graf says no. You're right though - it would be easy to add.

I think GZDoom already has its own UDMF namespace by now.

You know what, I think you're right.

You are indeed correct. viewtopic.php?f=123&t=66121 it even has exactly the same title.
And I also commented in this thread. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=69520

Most of the times when I want a floater to cross, but not walkers, it is for a railing. In those cases, it's easy to set up a line as a walkable, shoot-through texture with a texture tall enough that walkers can't get over it and the player can't jump over it. That way, floaters can rise up and fly over the texture but walkers and the player can't. However, sometimes, I just need a line that blocks walkers and not floaters.
