Preliminary training Room

Hey everyone,
I'm wondering how one can mod a custom pre-map for testing weapons and getting accustomed to controls before the game begins with the first map in single player. Basically a large empty room with text on the hud screen instructing the player to test everything before exiting and starting any mapset independent of this room.

For making the player start in that training room, you could set up a new episode using MAPINFO.
Though, as far as I know, it's not possible to jump from that map to the first map of currently selected IWAD. (Doom and Doom 2 have different naming schemes)
You could put two switches, one Exit_Normal that leads to MAP01 and one Exit_Secret that leads to E1M1 next to each other.

For making text appear on the player's HUD, use HudMessage in an ENTER script.

To see a good example,
play the first map of Blade of Agony, go to the training room on the first floor, talk to the Sergeant at Arms, then proceed to the training grounds.
