Can anyone explain what these sectors are for and how they work?
They have player 1,2,3,4 starts and the top one has all those short red columns first and in the middle 3 trigger lines type 25952 (my editor doesn't even know what that is) but more to the point how is the player supposed to get past the columns? just doesn't make sense. Then the next ones have the little squares which are tagged sectors that block the player obviously and the lines in front trigger an action (floor or door) - just have no idea how they would work.
What are all these player starts for??

Re: What are all these player starts for??
This is a classic example of what Boom mappers call "voodoo script" - certain switches or triggers will remove the columns in those sections, releasing the player voodoo dolls to ride down conveyors to trigger more walk over lines. This is primarily used to make a single switch have multiple effects, or to run complex timed effects, and is generally specific to Boom format maps.
