Help mitigating damage in under water sector.

So im trying to make an underwater sector that you start in (its rad) and i assign the player a invulnerability pickup i made in decorate (unbeknownst to them) and when they activate a later script it removes the item.

it works for vanilla, and smooth doom, and weapons of saturn...doesnt work for brutal doom...and lets be honest, thats what people play with.

so is there ANY WAY to remove the damage from an underwater 3d floor? it would be nice to find out ive been missing something simple.
