Hexen format to Boom/Doom Format?

Post by TDRR »

Is there any way to revert from Hexen format to Doom format? I'm trying to convert some maps that i'm not familiar with and if there was an easy way to convert from Hexen to Doom while also transfering over the linedef types then that would be great.

In GZDB or GZDBBF press F2 (Map Options) and select the Doom format. Click OK to change the format.
But, this comes with a caveat. While action numbers stay the same, the action meaning is not translated.

For example:
  • in Hexen format action 21: Floor_LowerToLowest
becomes
  • in Doom format action 21: S1 Lift Lower Wait Raise
So, if there are a lot of action specials in the map then conversion of the map will be a labour of love or learning experience. :D

I already knew that and i assume that means there's no way around it, oh well time to spend a few hours converting this crap. (I just hope they don't have extremely complicated ACS)

And i will also have a "fun learning experience" with DEHACKED
