Unit of speed for moving plats/doors/crushers?

Post by Enjay »

Simple question that I feel I should know the answer for, but don't. What is the unit of speed for moving sector ceilings/floors?

I mean, I know that 8 is quite slow for a door and 64 is fast, but what if I want to time something precisely? How many map units are travelled per tic at a given speed? Is speed the same for doors, lifts, crushers, platforms etc.?

Internally speed is expressed as 'map units per tic'. ACS multiplies this with 8 to get limited fractional support. So a speed value of 8 moves the plane by one map unit per tic.
