Hello all! I have just joined the forum and I have recently been getting into some doom modding!
I did start with ACS, but I have found ZScript to be very powerful, thus I am trying to define many of my actors in ZScript rather than Decorate. So, here is my question.
In Decorate you can define a doomednum in the actor definition. But I can't find a way to do this in ZScript. I want to be able to reference the actors so I can place them in the map within GZDOOM Builder. So is it possible to reference and place a ZScript actor from within GZDOOM Builder?
I found a work-around by inheriting the ZScript actor in decorate and then assigning the child actor a doomednum.
However, within GZDOOM Builder, the actors appear as '"exclamation marks".
Many Thanks,
Valencer

Re: GZDOOM Builder and Zscript
Hello all again - not sure if I should post this as a different topic, but please let me know if I should...
I have tried defining the doomednums in MAPINFO. They work when the mod is ran/tested, but do not appear in GZDOOM Builder (Only showing up as 'Exclamation Marks'). It would be nice to see them so It would make mapping much easier
I am running GZDOOM Builder Version 2.3 (Bugfix) R3009.

From what I've seen, it should work. I can't tell you how to make it work, I'm afraid, as it has been ages since the last time I used GZDoom Builder.

Re: GZDOOM Builder and Zscript
That kinda sounds like it's not parsing the ZScript.
Did you set gzdoom.pk3 as a base resource? If not, it won't read the ZScript code.
