There are several types of animated textures for different purposes. It may be a fluid like water or lava, it may be a switch, etc. No idea what are you trying to do but you should check the wiki definition, since it has practical examples at the bottom that can help you better understand the uses.

Just to check the obvious: I take it that is just a typo and your file is actually called ANIMDEFS?

Your definition looks OK to me. I take it that it's just a 2 frame animation that changes every 8 tics?

Do you get any errors at the console when you start?

Are your textures in the correct place in your WAD/PK3?

Does the (unanimated) texture actually appear in game?

When you say "not working" what do you actually mean?

1. I already got 1 animated tx working, so that is a typo
2. Yes 2 frame animation with 8 tics
3. Dont get any red or yellow errors or warnings
3. Its in wad and supossed to be begween ss_start and ss_end. I will double check it.
4. Un animated ones appear in game
5. Its supossed to be liquid for glat, but it would be coolto have it on walls aswell

Just noticed that other te

That *might* be the issue. SS_ is for sprites. If animdefs is looking for a texture but your WAD structure is saying those graphics are sprites, then it might not work. (Sprites can be used on walls, so them appearing in the map wouldn't be fooled by this error.)

Try putting the textures between TX_START and TX_END and see what happens.
