Translating a weapon to use the player's color

Just a little question, is there anyway to translate a weapons colors to use the same color that the player has chosen? I want to do this for some melee kick sprites. They already use the same colors as the base player sprite.

i was reading the ZDoom's wiki page about the pallete lump, and there says that palletes aren't applied to hud-weapon sprites. So, you will need to recolor it by yourself, and then replace the old-color sprites with your new ones
