50 GB royalty free sounds from Sonniss GDC2020

They've been releasing these every year since 2015, so here's the 2020 drop. Tons of sounds, useful for foley or mixing, just adding to your personal collection really. 50 GB. Have at it! Torrent download recommended (remember to seed!)

it's probably at least 96khz 24-bit raw PCM i'm assuming. serious sound engineering needs this and beyond to work out. I'd personally not use it for both disk space reasons and license/usage, but still should be fine for modders here.

The extra resolution is no doubt for mixing/mastering purposes as a lot of audio operations work better the higher the sample rate and bit depth is. Think of high res drawings of characters that then get downscaled to the target image quality. Or extremely high res photo textures used as a source before it ever gets to the game engine.

I can understand the licensing sentiment (it IS a little difficult determining if these sounds truly are provided by the contributors or if someone sneakily stole something), in this case I'd just take Sonniss' word here that these are indeed royalty/attribution-free.

Are the previous years still available? I didn't realize they made this a yearly thing.

I've gotten a lot of mileage out of the short-lived Game Audio Monthly and 2016 packages...

I'm unsure if any archives still exist online. I knew these wouldn't be around forever, so I made the conscious decision to grab them as soon as they went up; I have the full collections from 2015 til 2020 on my hard disk right now... but I'm not sure how I would go about uploading 166 GB worth of files.

The torrents would probably still be active, but I don't torrent. Occasional things like this or maybe internet.org stuff is all I'd ever use it for, so I haven't bothered.

I find Tixati to be a very good, no nonsense, no adverts, easy to use torrent client if you're looking for a recommendation.
