Not directly. If you incessantly bump old threads it's likely you might accrue a warning or two. But as far as I'm aware nobody's been outright banned for bumping.

Just follow the general rule of thumb, if a thread hasn't been updated for 6+ months or so, don't bump it asking for progress reports. They will come as and when the mod author sees fit. If a download link is down, request a reupload here: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=28589

Bumping is not usually worth a warning. The Gallery exists mainly as a "lesser punishment," and doesn't usually go on somebody's permanent record unless, as said, they do it a lot. As in, A Damn Lot. Especially if said person is doing it very much on purpose to annoy people.

There was one person who got a warning today because he made 8 bumps in a very short time span (only 7 of which are visible, his last one got disapproved once he got thrown back into the approval queue).

For this particular user, I plan this to be only a temporary thing unless they continue to make a habit of it.

Needless to say, the less work you make moderators do, and the less you stress out the moderator team, the less likely you'll get a warning, or a ban for that matter. 8 bumps is pushing the limit though.

If this particular user continues this behavior, then indeed they might see their contributions to this site come to an end, because at this point they've already been asked to stop and they have been educated on the situation, so to engage in this behavior further would incur greater consequences.

But occasionally just appearing in the GOUB thread really does not typically get you a warning or a ban. Being a pain in the neck does.
