The folks at Chaosforge just launched their spiritual successor to DRL, Jupiter Hell. If you backed it on Kickstarter, you'll have a Steam key in your email and can already play it, but for everybody else, it unlocks for public purchase in less than an hour. I'm honestly pretty happy with how it's turned out so far, and while they're specifying that the game is still Early Access, the planned additions primarily include more branching level paths and content. It's a remarkably well-polished game so far, and it comes highly recommended to those who liked DRL due to its many improvements on the formula.

Saw this ages ago but didn't know it would get this far.
Seems pretty decent, might pick it up when it's more suitable to my budget.

Looks like a clone of Codeimp's Bloodmasters.

It's a top-down roguelike RPG, so I dunno if I would go so far to call it a clone any more than Bloodmasters is a clone of Quake.

Man, that art style, yeesh. Bit of a step down from Derek Yu's lovely pixel art.
It's also available on GOG, should that be more your jam.
