Cooking on a CPU

Post by Twitchy2019 »

Hey, for any Doomer's random entertainment, here is some computer-related food preparation! (Edited)

Interesting. My first PC (not in the family, but personally in my room) didn't even have a fan on the CPU, just a heat sink. All it could play really was Wolfenstein 3D, but having used more advanced PCs before getting that one, I was not comfortable with just passive heatsink cooling. I ghetto-rigged a fan to it just to be safe. lol

Hey, uh just a quick question, how do we embed youtube vids into posts again? I tried the youtube tags and they did not work.

The YouTube tags work fine - but you only include the video ID, not the full URL.

e.g. the bit highlighted in this pic

As Enjay has stated, yes, they work fine - you're just using them the wrong way.

If I could, I would change it so you only have to paste a link and not have to worry about removing the rest of it, like with the imgur tags.

Unfortunately, the Youtube tag is so old and in so many posts that such a breaking change would be impossible for the site to deal with properly.

Could the old one exist silently (i.e. not listed in menus etc) but still be there so that old posts don't break but have a new auto-one added (maybe "yt" tags instead of "youtube") for full urls - or would that just lead to confusion?

That probably would just confuse people.

Would it be helpful if the instructions for using the Youtube tags and such be included in the FAQ? I tried there and did not find anything concrete.

The instructions for image and video tags are in the Rules and Announcements section with all the other FAQ threads.

Is the bbcode on this forum engine implemented as some kind of simplified search and replace layer?
If it'd be direct in PHP, should be easy to add check of the argument to see if it is just the video ID or a full URL...

Codegen power supplies are excellent for making pancakes or boiled eggs. Basically that is the only thing they're useful for, besides paperweights.

It's pretty crazy how you can do that with a CPU. Prehaps someone can make a computer-themed oven?

Would be nice, haha. Play Eternal Doom while makin' your breakfast - boiled eggs and bacon. Combine pleasure with usefulness :)
