Yeah, the crash was mostly confined to Atari, but at that time, it was a huge game company back then. When ET happened, most people became disillusioned with Atari and they stopped buying, and by extension, most other games. And speaking of fiascos, I remember New Coke. I don't remember if I ever had one of those, but I certainly remember the whole thing. All that hype, followed by an even greater backlash. Fortunately, Coca-Cola fared better than Atari.
