the PSX/64 music from their respective TCs i think comes from an old rip of the music from the game discs, which is arranged differently than what is on Hodges' Bandcamp, not to mention the quality is lesser. so i guess using those files would be okay, since they don't come from his Bandcamp?

The original Doom and Doom2 licenses explicitly allow use of modified id assets, as long as they require the original game - that's how KDiZD was actually legal.
