Scythe-style map packs?

Post by Gollgagh »

I finally discovered Scythe last week, and it is my proverbial jam. What other wads are out there that follow this kind of design philosophy of tightly-designed encounters with little to no fluff?

I know of Confinement 256, which would be on the extreme end of the spectrum, but I am itching for more.

If you like tight maps, try Claustrophobia1024. The maps are short, but intense.

Maybe give "Demonfear" or Matt Tropiano's "Coffee Break" a whirl.

EDIT: Also "TVR!" and "Vanguard".

https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/level ... c/bloodrst not a full megawad but pretty much scythe 1-style all the way.

https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/level ... -f/endgame this might be worth investigating too, it's a community project which also has work by erik alm

Perdition's Gate should also be quite comparable to Scythe

You should check up this one:

200 MINUTES OF /VR/

I played it not long time ago, most maps are between small and medium size, but gameplay is quite intense! I strongly recommend it for you! :)
